Rodiya Yusuf, Chair
Wellington, New Zealand
Rodiya Yusuf, the middle child of a Cambodian refugee family, was raised in Wellington, New Zealand. Her family had sought refuge in New Zealand after the fall of the Khmer Rouge.
The Wellington Muslim community has played an integral role in her life, and has steered her down a path of volunteer work which has included teaching the youngsters of the community and also helping to establish various initiatives including the Victoria University Muslim Students Association post 9/11.
In an effort to stay connected to the ever-growing Muslim community, and to follow in the footsteps of her parents, she continues to dedicate much of her spare time to giving back by assisting with the coordination of Quran and religious studies classes and events for the community.
On a personal level, she has been a part of the IT industry for the past 13 years or so after having completed a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration in Economics, International Business and E-Commerce at Victoria University of Wellington.
Through the work of KLN, she hopes to broaden her skills, connect with and increase her exposure to the national and global community.
